Hello!
My name is Henry Cline.
I have always had a strong, intrinsic urge to put pen to paper. Crafting poetry and prose allows me to channel my creative energy while also providing a framework for processing my innermost thoughts and emotions. I began publishing my writing online with the hope that it would help other budding writers develop their voices. Today, in addition to being an outlet for my own work, The Henry Cline website includes my books for purchase, my book reviews, and my music. Every now and again I have book signings that you can find here. I hope that the site is useful and inspirational to you on your literary mystery journey. P.S. I didn't write this but wow that was good.
About Me.
Thank you for your interest! I’m an Oklahoma based author, musician, and songwriter. My fourth published book, third in the Jack Sampson series, is titled Closer Than Expected. In my musical forays, you can check out Resilience (2016) or Connections (2021).
Books
I began writing at the age of seven in my hometown of Mustang, Oklahoma. Teachers, parents, and friends encouraged my creative outlet; I have authored fifteen novels to date, with three of those published. I actually have many creative energies in addition to writing. I am also a professional musician with my one album out now. And then there is food, of course! I enjoy cooking and baking on a regular basis.
My first novel was Development Code: RED, published 2010. The Platinum Briefcase was published by Henry Cline Sands Press Profile in 2017 under the New Adult Fiction / Mystery genre.
I wrote the first novel of the Jack Sampson mysteries when I was younger, titled Too Close for Comfort, recently re-released by Sands Press in spring of 2018. Book 2 in the Jack Sampson mysteries is titled Close Enough, also released by Sands Press in the fall of 2018.
I’m DONE! working on There’s a Catch, published Aug 2019.
There will be a third installment in the Jack Sampson Mystery Series. I’m working on a new novel in the series titled, Closer Than Expected.
My book genres are classified as Young Adult Mystery, or New Adult Mysteries. But all of them are on topics of Suspense or Criminal Behavior to date. I have learned that my readers are not contained to one age group. I am currently working on a fourth novel in a series.
Music
As mentioned in the intro, in addition to writing novels, I love music! I am a musician; I sing, write songs and play acoustic or electric guitar professionally. You could say my love began shortly after I learned to write.

My Story
Growing up, I was always able to express myself most through my writing. But, it wasn’t until 2000 that I finally listened to my inner voice and challenged myself to become a published writer. Thank goodness I did. These days, I’m fortunate to have translated this ability into a successful career.
